De La Salle University outlasted National University in a thriller, 15-25, 25-19, 18-25, 25-19, 15-12, on Saturday in the UAAP Season 86 women’s volleyball tournament at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Shevana Laput had 20 points, while Angel Canino had 17 points as the Lady Spikers improved to 6-1.

Alyssa Solomon paced the Lady Bulldogs with 21 points, Bella Belen and Vange Alinsug had 20 and 19 points as the Lady Bulldogs went down to 5-2.

Meanwhile, the University of Santo Tomas took down Adamson University, 25-18, 22-25, 25-15, 28-26, to complete a sweep of the first round of eliminations.

Angge Poyos led the Golden Tigresses with 18 points, while Jonna Perdido had 16 points. Regina Jurado chipped in 12 points as the España-based squad improved to 7-0.

Rochelle Laongisip had 14 points for the Lady Falcons which slipped to 2-5.
