Juami Tiongson buried the biggest basket of the day to steer Terrafirma to a 92-91 comeback victory against Blackwater to regain its winning ways in the 2024 PBA Philippine Cup on Saturday at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum.
Down 91-89 down the stretch, the veteran guard escaped the defense of RK Ilagan then sank a long bomb from downtown to give the Dyip a two-point lead with 12.5 seconds left on the clock.
Ilagan then tried to win it for the Bossing with a last-gasp three-pointer, but the 5-foot-7 guard missed out on it as Terrafirma completed the win that also saw the Dyip overcome a 19-point deficit.
Tiongson finished with 20 points, six rebounds, and three assists while the returning Stepehen Holt led the charge with 21 markers, 13 boards, two dimes, and one steal as they improved to 3-2. The Bossing, however, absorbed their second straight loss to drop to 3-2.
Isaac Go shone off the bench with 17 points, seven rebounds, and two assists.
Troy Rosario paced Blackwater with 23 points, eight rebounds, three assists, two steals, and one block while Ilagan poured in 15 markers, five dimes, and three boards.
