PBA: Lassiter sparks SMB’s third quarter barrage in rout of Converge

Marcio Lassiter got his offense going in the third quarter as San Miguel overcame Converge, 112-103, to remain unscathed in the 2024 PBA Philippines Cup on Friday at the PhilSports Arena.

The Beermen erased an early double-digit deficit and erupted for 51 points in the penultimate frame to improve to 6-0 while the FiberXers dropped to 0-8. 

Lassiter scored 17 of his overall output in the third quarter, fueling their comeback from a 34-22 disadvantage early in the second quarter. He finished with 19 markers built on five three-pointers alongside five rebounds and three assists.

CJ Perez and Don Trollano each dropped 11 points in that third quarter rally and tallied 25 and 19 markers apiece with the former also collaring 10 boards and three dimes. 

The loss spoiled Alec Stockton’s 36-point performance he spiked with six rebounds, four assists, and a steal while Justin Arana chipped in 18 markers, four boards, and one dime.
