Patricia Evangelista is set to hold a book talk about her acclaimed memoir “Some People Need Killing.”

On social media, the University of the Philippines announced that the prizewinning author and journalist, who is also a UP alumna, will jumpstart the Philippine tour of her highly acclaimed book on April 11.

According to the post, the event will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the UP Aldaba Recital Hall.

Joining Evangelista in the conversation is her fellow UP alumnus and GMA Network journalist Atom Araullo.

Aside from fun-filled conversations and question and answer session, a book signing will also be held.

Evangelista’s debut nonfiction book delves into her experience covering former President Rodrigo Duterte’s drug war campaign.

The book was launched in October at Columbia University’s Dart Center for Journalism and Trauma in New York.

It was among the New York Times’ “10 Best Books of 2023” and was included in the TIME Magazine’s list of 100-must-read books of 2023.

It has also been included in former US president Barack Obama’s favorite books of 2023.
