A construction worker from Cagayan who injected petroleum jelly in his genital area 17 years ago successfully underwent surgery thanks to the GMA Kapuso Foundation.
According to a report on “24 Oras,” Monday, the man, Dante (not his real name), developed penile granuloma as a result of the injection, causing him discomfort and pain.
Dante reached out to the GMA Kapuso Foundation for help in February and he immediately got a consultation and surgery at East Avenue Medical Center.
“Ang ginawa natin sa ating pasyente is excision of granuloma ang ginawa natin na mapanatili natin ‘yung skin,” said Dr. Hector Santos. “Sa ngayon, naka-more than two weeks na siya. He can definitely go back sa kanyang light activity.”
Santos reminded everyone to refrain from injecting anything to their bodies. Dante regretted his decision to do so after facing the consequences that resulted from it.
“Hindi nararapat na ituturok ;yung mga bagay na ‘di dapat tinuturok,” the doctor said.
Dante is now recovering well after his surgery.
“Nakakatulog na nang maayos, nakakaihi nang maayos,” he said. “Nagpapasalamat ako sa GMA Kapuso ako ay natulungan na matanggal ang aking nararamdaman.”
