More than 2,000 residents from Sta. Marcela, Apayao availed of GMA Kapuso Foundation’s free medical consultation under the Kalusugan Karavan project.
According to “24 Oras” Wednesday, among those who were present at the medical mission was polio victim Robert Serelo.
Despite having difficulty walking, Robert continues to support his family by making baskets from seagrass.
Robert also continues to help his elderly neighbors despite his condition.
“Kapag may kailangan sila, ako ang tinatawag bumili ng gamot, magpacheck-up,” he said.
Robert even volunteered to take his neighbors to the medical consultation using his tricycle.
“RS is a 42-year-old patient post-polio syndrome. He has lower extremity weakness, but he’s still able to ambulate.
Robert’s children were also given vitamins and cough and cold medicines.
