BERLIN, Germany – President Ferdinand ”Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Tuesday assured the Filipino community in Germany that his administration is exhausting all measures to guarantee that they are being treated with respect and dignity.
During his meet and greet with the Filipino community, Marcos said the government is committed to supporting the overseas Filipino workers and the broader Filipino community abroad.
”We are working tirelessly to ensure that you are treated with the dignity and the respect that you deserve,” Marcos said.
”Through various programs and initiatives, we strive to protect your rights, your welfare. We strive to ensure your well-being and empowerment is assured,” he added.
Marcos also lauded the OFWs’ contributions, saying that these extend far beyond remittances.
”You are envoys – para kayong mga ambassador lahat ng ating kultura, you exemplify the values of family, faith, honesty, hard work, compassion, and solidarity wherever you go,” Marcos said.
Meanwhile, protest actions were also staged by some groups amid Marcos’ meet and greet with Filipinos in Berlin. — BAP, GMA Integrated News
