The University of Santo Tomas survived De La Salle University, 25-18, 25-23, 14-25, 16-25, 15-12, on Sunday in the UAAP Season 86 women’s volleyball tournament at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Jonna Perdido had 24 points from 21 attacks and three blocks, while Angge Poyos had 22 points for the Golden Tigresses.

Reigning Most Valuable Player Angel Canino had 28 points, while Amie Provido had 11 points for the Lady Spikers.

With the win, UST improved to 3-0 while defending champs La Salle slipped to 2-1.

Earlier, Far Eastern University defeated University of the East, 22-25, 25-17, 25-18, 25-27, 15-11.

Gerzel Petallo had 18 points, while Chenie Tagaod added 16 points for the Lady Tamaraws which improved to 2-1. 

Casiey Dongalio erupted for 30 points, but the Lady Warriors went down to 1-2.
