Jaja Santiago tapped for Japan national team training camp

Filipina volleyball star Jaja Santiago has been called up by the Japan national team to join its training camp.

The Japan Volleyball Association made the announcement on Friday.

Santiago is playing for JT Marvelous in the Japan V. League.

According to Santiago’s husband Taka Minowa, who is also the director for volleyball operations of Nxled and Akari, this will be a big opportunity for his wife.

“She’ll join the Japan national team training camp, She hasn’t get naturalization yet but this opportunity really big step for her dream,” he said in a post on X.

Aside from Santiago, Melissa Valdes of the PFU Blue Cats has also been called up for the training camp.
