Michael de Mesa penned a beautiful tribute to Jaclyn Jose, promising that he and the rest of the Eigenmann clan will look after her daughter Andi and her family.
On Instagram, Michael posted some photos taken at Jaclyn’s wake, including a snap of the Eigenmann family.
“You left behind a legacy of love, artistry, and inspiration,” he wrote in the caption. “We will make sure @andieigengirl and her family are surrounded by that warmth. Rest easy now, Jane.”
“Love you so much Tito Mike,” Andi replied.
Andi is Jaclyn’s daughter with the late actor Mark Gil, brother of Michael.
Gabby Eigenmann, Andi’s half-brother and Mark’s son with Irene Celebre, also vowed to watch over Andi and her family in Jaclyn’s place.
Jaclyn, born Mary Jane Guck, died on March 2 at 60 years old. Andi revealed that she died of heart attack.
Jaclyn’s passing was first announced by her agency, PPL Entertainment. The Philippine National Police said her family was convinced that there was no foul play involved in her death.
Jaclyn left behind a stellar legacy in Philippine showbiz. Her notable performances include starring and supporting roles in films such as “The Flor Contemplacion Story” and “Patay Na Si Hesus.” She also starred in several GMA Network series, including “Marimar,” “The Millionaire’s Wife,” and “D’Originals.”
The Eigenmann family, celebrities, and industry colleagues are mourning the award-winning actress and have paid tribute to her on social media.
Among the stars who visited Jaclyn’s wake include Dingdong Dantes, Alden Richards, Barbie Forteza, Andrea Torres, Gina Alajar, Gladys Reyes, Dominic Zapata, Ina Feleo, and many more.
Andi thanked Jaclyn’s Kapuso friends, saying it’s “so amazing for me to see how much you guys loved her so much.”
