The boys team of Gilas Pilipinas Youth is grouped with Spain, Lithuania, and Puerto Rico in Group A of the upcoming FIBA U17 World Cup in Istanbul, Türkiye.
The draw was held last Wednesday.
The Philippines qualified to the World Cup through the U16 Asian Championship in 2023 where the country placed fourth.
Kieffer Alas, Joaquin Ludovice, and Kurt Velasquez were among the leaders of the said squad under coach Josh Reyes.
Group B will have China, USA, France, and Guinea, while Group C is composed of Argentina, Türkiye, New Zealand, and Italy. Group D, on the other hand, has Egypt, Germany, Canada and Australia.
The World Cup will be held from June 29 to July 7 in Istanbul.
