The University of Santo Tomas completed a reverse sweep of Far Eastern University, 22-25, 21-25, 25-23, 25-20, 15-7, on Sunday in the UAAP Season 86 women’s volleyball tournament at the Mall of Asia Arena.
With the win, UST extended its perfect run to four since the tourney opened.
Angge Poyos had 24 points, while Mary Banagua had 15 points. Xyza Gula and Regina Jurado chipped in 13 points apiece. The Golden Tigresses outlasted the Lady Tamaraws despite their 40 errors in the match.
Chenie Tagaod and Jean Asis had 15 points each as the Morayta-based squad went down to 2-2.
Earlier, Adamson University won over University of the East, 25-19, 25-19, 26-28, and 29-27.
The Lady Warriors played without head coach Jerry Yee who was temporarily suspended by the UAAP Board.
Adamson improved to 2-2 while UE slipped to 1-3.
