Kapuso stars showed up for their friends as they took centerstage at the Manila staging of “Rent!”

Rita Daniela and Mariane Osabel were nothing but supportive of their Queendom sister, Thea Astley, on her theater debut as Mimi Marquez in the play.

Without a doubt, Thea was exceptional during the preview night of the hit Broadway musical “Rent” at the RCBC Theater in Makati on Thursday.

Asked how they would describe Thea’s performance, Mariane said, “Na-speechless ako. Revelation si Thea grabe ang galing galing niya. Wala akong masabi.”

The two expressed that they are also proud of their colleagues Anthony Rosaldo and Garret Bolden, who were also among the lead characters in the musical.

“Nakaka-inspire sila,” said Rita, noting that she had never watched the musical or film adaption of Jonathan Larson’s rock-inspired musical “Rent” before.

“Grabe, ‘yun pala siya that’s why it’s so phenomenal and ang sarap niya sa puso,” she said.

“Kaya, I’m so happy that theater is slowly coming back, and I’m so happy that our colleagues Thea, Garret, and Anthony are part of this very very great project,” Rita added.

Meanwhile, Kapuso couple Gabbi Garcia and Khalil Ramos also attended the preview.

“Sobrang galing nila, big shoutout to our fellow GMA stars, Thea, Garret and Anthony oh my goodness sobrang galing,” said Khalil.

He noted that all the casts member blew their minds and how they all sparked individually on stage with their passion.

Gabi said they were looking forward to watching “Rent.”

“Ssince we know that our friends are playing big big roles,” she said. “Sobrang na-excite kami, and they really blew our minds. You could see their passion and dedication.”
