Philippine Olympic Committee president Abraham Tolentino said those who will win gold in the upcoming 2024 Paris Olympics will be rewarded with house and lot.
House and lot packages were also given to the Tokyo Olympics medalists three years ago.
“If I gave houses and lots to the medalists in the Tokyo Olympics, why can’t and won’t do it again for Paris,” Tolentino said on Thursday.
“Our gold medalist, one or more, in Paris fully deserves this reward for their hard work, dedication and love for sport and country.”
Tokyo Olympics gold medalist Hidilyn Diaz, silver medalists Nesthy Petecio and Carlo Paalam, and bronze medalist Eumir Marcial were all given houses and lots in Tagaytay as part of their rewards for their achievements.
As mandated by Republic Act 10699 or the National Athletes and Coaches Benefits and Incentives Act, Olympic gold medalists in individual events will be rewarded with P10 million.
As of writing, at least ten Filipino athletes have qualified for the Summer Games slated in July.
