Petro Gazz and Chery Tiggo picked up huge wins on Saturday as the semifinals cast for the 2024 PVL All-Filipino Conference was finalized with Creamline and Choco Mucho also marching on to the Final Four.
Petro Gazz cruised to a dominant 25-7, 25-21, 25-17 beatdown of Galeries while Chery Tiggo swept Akari as well, 25-17, 25-20, 25-17 to formally complete the postseason cast.
The Angels banked on Brooke Van Sickle, whose 17-point outing laced with nine digs and four receptions carried Petro Gazz to its eighth win while Jonah Sabete chipped in 11 markers.
Meanwhile, Eya Laure continued to dazzle for the streaking Chery Tiggo as the former UST standout posted 14 points while Ara Galang chimed in with nine markers.
With their wins, Petro Gazz, Choco Mucho, Creamline, and Chery Tiggo figured in a four-way logjam with identical 8-2 cards but are all assured of a semis spot, where they will compete in another single round robin.
In the final game, Cignal overcame a first set hiccup with a 24-26, 26-24, 25-17, 28-26 victory to eliminate another contender PLDT.
Veterans Jovelyn Gonzaga and Ces Molina joined forces with 16 and 15 points apiece while Vanie Gandler contributed 12 markers.
