Carlos Yulo wins World Cup series gold in parallel bars thumbnail


Filipino Olympian Carlos Yulo secured the gold medal in the parallel bars final of the 2024 FIG Artistic Gymnastics Apparatus World Cup series on Saturday in Doha, Qatar.

Yulo, who had already clinched a place in the 2024 Paris Olympics’ gymnastics competition, finished with a score of 15.200 to finish ahead of Chinese Taipei’s Hung Yuan-Hsi (14.966) and Brazil’s Caio Souza (14.566) for the gold.

Earlier, he also won the silver in the men’s vault final after scoring 15.066, finishing just behind Artur Davtyan of Armenia, who finished with a score of 15.166.

Yulo is among three Filipino gymnasts qualified for the Paris Games, alongside Aleah Finnegan and Levi Jung-Ruivivar, who only recently earned her Olympic qualification in this same tournament.
