University of Perpetual Help System DALTA launched its four-peat drive with a decisive 25-23, 25-19, 25-17 win against Jose Rizal University in the NCAA Season 99 men’s volleyball tournament on Sunday at the Filoil EcoOil Centre.
Reigning MVP Louie Ramirez flaunted an all-around performance after pouring in 17 points on top of six digs and seven excellent receptions as the ALTAs kicked off their title defense on a rousing note.
The veteran outside hitter received ample support from the rest of the crew with his beach volleyball teammate Jeff Marapoc and middle blocker Kobe Tabuga chipping in 10 markers apiece while KC Andrade chimed in with eight.
Matthew Miguel carried the fight for the Heavy Bombers, registering 12 points while Windel Laurenciana and Ken Daynata produced 10 and eight markers apiece.
The win set the tone for the Sammy Acaylar-led crew in its chase for the school’s third four-peat feat in NCAA history.
