NorthPort has lost a key piece amidst its ongoing slump in the PBA Philippine Cup.

Batang Pier head coach Bonnie Tan revealed that sophomore big man JM Calma has been ruled out of the season following an ACL injury he sustained during their game against Ginebra last Sunday.

Tan added that Calma will be sidelined for 10 to 12 months.

This added woes to NorthPort’s campaign as they are now in a three-game losing streak with only a few games left in the elimination round.

The former San Sebastian standout was among the Batang Pier’s top scorers, averaging 7.86 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.0 assist while providing the inside presence for the squad.

With Calma out, NorthPort will rely heavily on other big men in rookies Cade Flores and Damie Cantupay as well as Ben Adamos.
