MANILA, Philippines — President Marcos has signed a law creating a new engineering office of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in Zamboanga City.
Under Republic Act 11994, which the President signed on April 4, the Zamboanga City First District Engineering Office will be located in the Zamboanga City Special Economic Zone-Zamboanga Freeport Authority in Barangay Talisayan.
The law directs the secretary of the DPWH to include the operationalization of the Zamboanga City first and second district engineering offices in the department’s program.
The funding for the two offices will come from the annual General Appropriations Act.
The law shall take effect 15 days after its publication in the Official Gazette or a newspaper of general circulation.
