BERLIN—President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Tuesday met with Chancellor Olaf Scholz as his first agenda in his working visit to Germany. 

Marcos was given arrival honors at the grounds of The Chancellery. 

The Philippine officials present during the ceremony were Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez, Presidential Communications Office Secretary Cheloy Garafil, Foreign Affairs Secretary Enrique Manalo, Trade and Industry Secretary Alfredo Pascual, and Philippine Ambassador to Germany Irene Susan Natividad. 

The two leaders are set to have a tete-a-tete at the Chancellor’s Office to strengthen ties between the Philippines and Germany. 

After that, the leaders will have a working lunch and a joint press conference. 

Marcos’ visit to Germany is upon the invitation of Chancellor Scholz. —NB, GMA Integrated News
