With great love for coffee and K-pop comes a coffee shop that is especially made for K-pop fans.
Located in the outskirts of Pasig City, From Home Cafe is a place where K-pop fans, especially the fans of the idol group NCT, can be at their happiest as they enjoy a good taste of coffee and good company.
Speaking to GMA News Online, cafe owner and long-time K-pop fan JM said that she had always dreamed of having her own cafe.
“My love for coffee and K-pop started when I was young, that’s why I decided to combine the two things I love the most: coffee and NCT,” she said.
“Another reason is I also want to create a safe-space not only for us Czennies (NCT fans), but for all K-pop stans,” she added.
According to JM, the coffee shop started as a home-based cafe last year until she decided to open a dainty yet cozy cafe in February. She said it was one of the reasons why the cafe is named From Home.
“We named our coffee shop ‘From Home Cafe’ because we literally started at home. We started selling coffee in early 2023 as a home-based cafe, accepting orders only from our neighbors,” she said.
She also credited NCT U’s song “From Home”—her favorite track—as the main reason behind its name.
As you step food in the cafe, you will be greeted by a blue and white interior filled with items related to NCT. Some of the items that can be seen inside the cafe are the group’s albums, posters and photographs that serve as the cafe gallery wall.
Aside from these NCT related items, some of the beverages in their menu are named after NCT’s songs such as the Dear Dream which is a strawberry soda, City 127 or their green apple soda and their blueberry soda which is named Good Life.
The prices are student friendly as they only range from P98 to P148.
In ordinary days, From Home is like any other coffee shop, but on special occasions such as a birthday of a beloved K-pop idol or a group anniversary, it serves as a place for K-pop lovers to bond with their fellow fans and enjoy their music.
To go to From Home Cafe, you must go first to SM Megamall and look for the UV terminal going to Pasig Palengke. Upon arriving at the Pasig Palengke, ride a tricycle and ask the driver to drop you off at Villa Alegre. From Home is just beside the entrance of Villa Alegre.
