Filipino Olympic gold medalist Hidilyn Diaz and her husband and conditioning coach Julius Naranjo are taking a “much-needed family time” after her journey to the 2024 Paris Olympics ended.
Diaz, on Thursday, posted on social media her photos with Naranjo, and wrote in the caption, “Now, for the much needed family time.”
“Du’n tayo sa FOREVER. God and Family are Forever,” Diaz added.
The two are in Thailand where the 2024 IWF World Cup is being held.
Diaz and Naranjo got married in 2022.
The weightlifter’s bid for a fifth straight stint in the Summer Games ended on Wednesday as Elreen Ando qualified in the 59-kg event, where they are both contenders. Diaz competed in the Olympics in 2008, 2012, in 2016 where she claimed silver, and in 2021 where she won the country’s first Olympic gold medal.
Diaz, however, said she will still continue weightlifting despite failing to qualify for Paris.
