Office of Transportation Cooperatives (OTC) chairperson Jesus Ferdinand “Andy” Ortega has been appointed as the new undersecretary of the Department of Transportation (DOTr), an official confirmed to GMA News Online.
Ortega will serve as undersecretary for the agency’s Road Infrastructure, said Jonathan Gesmundo, executive assistant to Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista.

Ortega was named head of the OTC in February 2023.
According to the OTC website, it is mandated to promulgate and implement rules and regulations that will govern the promotion, organization, registration (accreditation), regulation, supervision, and development of transportation cooperatives, subject to the approval of the DOTr. —With Jiselle Anne Casucian/LDF, GMA Integrated News
