About 6,000 residents from Antique received aid from GMA Kapuso Foundation as they face the effects of the El Niño.
According to “24 Oras,” Friday, a large portion of farm land in the town of Tobias Fornier has dried up.
Farmer Ronelyn Naig said that this has affected her income and she is now in deep debt.
Meanwhile, half of Salvacion Yasay’s crops were attacked by armyworms.
“Dati, nandiyan rin pero hindi masyado. Pero ngayon, grabe as in. ‘Yung uod, talagang 100% kakainin ‘yang dahon,” Salvacion said.
So ‘yung mais natin naapektuhan,” Municipal agriculturist Renesito Labnao said.
Under Operation Bayanihan, GMA Kapuso Foundation delivered food packs to residents, medicines and hygiene kits to the rural health unit.
