132 distressed OFWs repatriated from Middle East arrive thumbnail


A total of 132 distressed Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) who were  from the Middle East arrived safely in Manila over the weekend.

According to a report from Mao dela Cruz on Super Radyo dzBB,  the OFWs arrived as one group onboard Gulf Air Flight GF154 at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 from Bahrain on Saturday.

The OFWs were assisted by the Department of Migrant Workers and other Filipino resource workers such as the Bahay Kalinga in Kuwait as part of the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration- Migrant Workers’ Office in coordination with the Philippine Embassy in Kuwait.

OWWA personnel provided the arriving OFWs at NAIA with food, transportation back to their respective provinces, hotel accommodation if needed and financial assistance.—RF, GMA Integrated News
