MANILA, Philippines — A trailer truck driver was killed while two others were injured in a collision with a dump truck along Mel Lopez Boulevard in Tondo, Manila on Friday morning.
The fatality was identified only as a 35-year-old man while the injured were dump truck driver Joseph Amansek, 54, and helper Ruel Fernandez.
According to the Manila Police District, Amansek was driving along Mel Lopez Boulevard at around 2:50 a.m. when he rear-ended a trailer truck that had stalled due to mechanical failure.
Due to the impact, the driver was thrown to the ground and declared dead at the scene by medical responders.
The victim’s body was brought to BVL Funeral Home Services.
