University of the East once again dominated UAAP fencing as it topped all divisions in the Season 86 tournaments which ended on Sunday.

The Red Warriors clinched its 10th straight men’s title with three golds and two silvers, while in the women’s division, UE topped the field for the third straight season with three golds, two silvers, and a bronze.

The boys team of the Recto-based squad also finished on top with five golds and three silvers, while the girls team had four golds, four silvers, and a bronze.

[We’re happy because we were able to retain the championship even if the pressure was high. When the UAAP approaches, we really feel the pressure because we’re not just defending one title, we’re defending four. And we’re not just champions, it’s been a decade. That’s what we think about, how to defend that because all of our opponents are improving.]

Meanwhile, the University of Santo Tomas (2-0-3) and De La Salle University (1-2-3) followed suit in the men’s division, while the University of the Philippines (2-1-4) and UST (1-1-3) completed the top three in the women’s division.
