Tulfo: Lotto bettor invests P90M on 3 outlets, wins over P600-M jackpot

Senator Raffy Tulfo on Monday raised in a Senate hearing the case of an individual who won over P600 million in the lotto after investing P90 million for three lotto outlets.

Tulfo shared the information at the hearing of the Senate Committee on Games and Amusement on the recent winnings in the conduct of lotto draws by the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office.

Tulfo said this happened “in the Binondo area.”

“Nag-invest siya ng 90 million at nanalo siya ng P600 million at ang tinaya niya ay System 12. So again, one person may-ari siya. Maybe siya ang may-ari, maybe hindi. Parang nag-invest siya ng P90 million, tig-P30 million each outlet na siya ang may-ari… This is in Binondo area,” Tulfo said.

Tulfo said the problem he is seeing is that the jackpot prize was increased by P500 million to push it over P600 million. 

PCSO general manager Mel Robloes said that the lotto jackpot is not won instantaneously.

“Kaya nag-snowball pa nga ‘yung iba…May snowballing po kasi ‘yan eh. ‘Pag hindi tinamaan for the day, dadagdag po talaga yan,” Robles said.
