People lined up to get an authentic taste of Pad Thai, Mango Sticky Rice, Pork and Chicken Krapao, among other authentic Thai food at this weekend’s Street Food Festival in Makati.

According to Jamie Santos’s report on 24 Oras Weekend Sunday, the Thailand-Philippine Street Food Festival took place on Rada Street in Makati over the weekend, where more than 15 merchants participated.

“This is a historic one,” Thailand Ambassador to the Philippines Tull Traisorat said. “[The] Rada-Thailand Street was established in 1997 at the same time the street in front of the Philippine Embassy in Bangkok was named Philippines Street as well,”

Apart from food, a Songkran Dance and a live cooking demo also took place during the festival’s opening on Saturday.

The Street Food Festival is part of the celebration of the 75th anniversary of Diplomatic relations between Thailand and the Philippines.

“It has been very close at all levels government to government, business to business, and people to people as well,” Traisorat added.
