Sparkle 10 hopes to inspire, empower Filipina women

Sparkle has officially launched the group of beautiful, confident, and empowered female stars known as Sparkle 10.

In a media conference on Monday, Sparkle introduced Sparkle 10 stars Ashley Ortega, Angel Guardian, Elle Villanueva, Faith Da Silva, Kate Valdez, Lexi Gonzales, Lianne Valentin, Liezel Lopez, Rabiya Mateo, and Shuvee Etrata.

“It’s just exciting. I’m very excited kasi we are all different. We all have different personalities and characters, and yet here we are. And I know na we can inspire and empower other women just by being ourselves cause we’re all different,” Angel said.

Meanwhile, beauty queen turned actress Rabiya Mateo said that she’s proud to be part of the group.

“Maraming manonood sa ‘min who will also feel confident about themselves kasi nakikita n’yo na we’re different. May individuality kami and at the same time inclusive kami,” she said. 

In a previous interview, Sparkle’s Consulting Head for Talent Imaging and Marketing  Lawrence Tan said “Sparkle 10 is a showcase of beauty, brains and talents in all forms” and “versatility in whatever roles they tackle.”

Sparkle also said they “embody the traits of a modern Filipina woman” who are “here to shift the status quo.”

According to Sparkle, the public can expect more projects from the 10 ladies this year.

Rabiya and Elle currently star in GMA Afternoon Prime series “Makiling,” while Faith and Angel are part of the main cast of upcoming “Encantadia” spinoff “Sang’gre.” Angel is also among the cast of reality show “Running Man Philippines,” along with Lexi.

Meanwhile, Liezel currently stars in GMA Primetime series “Asawa ng Asawa Ko” and sitcom “Walang Matigas na Pulis sa Matinik na Misis.”

Ashley will be part of the “Pulang Araw” cast, while Kate will star in the Philippine adaptation of “Shining Inheritance.”

Sparkle 10 is the latest initiative of GMA’s talent arm. In 2023, it launched the Sparkle Teens.

Sparkle started its annual initiatives in 2022, when launched Sparkada and Sparkle 8, which includes Derrick Monasterio, Sanya Lopez, Gabbi Garcia, Khalil Ramos, Bianca Umali, Ruru Madrid, Miguel Tanfelix, and Ysabel Ortega.
