Every March, a month-long fire prevention campaign is observed in the Philippines.

In a report on “24 Oras,” Wednesday, Fire Senior Inspector Gabriel Solano said that the campaign’s objective is to deliver awareness to the public.

According to the data gathered by the Bureau of Fire Protection, there have been 3,441 fire cases in the country from January 1 to March 6.

“The objective ng Fire Prevention Month is to lay down a series of publicity campaigns in order for us to send a message of fire safety awareness, cooperation, and call to action by the public,” he said.

Smoking, broken electric wires, and exposed electrical wiring are among the main causes of fire.

“Pina-prioritize ng Bureau of Fire Protection is ‘yung tinatawag nating good housekeeping practice.

Dr. Hector Santos shared some first-aid advice in cases of accidents.
