MANILA, Philippines — Shopee logistics partner SPX Express has formally opened its largest sorting facility in the Philippines in a bid to provide more seamless and efficient delivery solutions.
SPX held yesterday the ribbon cutting ceremony for its SOC 5 sorting center located in Calamba, Laguna.
“With over 25,000 square meters of warehouse space and cutting-edge technology, the newest sorting center is able to automate its operations that can process up to more than three million parcels per day, transforming order fulfillments into a more optimized process for an even more efficient delivery of products from sellers to buyers,” SPX said.
SPX Express head Martin Yu said the opening of the newest sorting facility allows the company to widen its service coverage to more expansive areas and communities.
“Effective delivery solutions serve as a bridge between sellers and buyers. We are focused on sharpening the excellence of our operational services in order to ensure seamless logistics and an overall enhanced shopping experience for Filipinos.
More than anything else, our goal is to enable more citizens to enjoy the benefits of online shopping and ultimately, to aid in their participation in the country’s growing digital economy,” Yu said.
Yu said that sorting centers are a critical step in the parcel journey as this is where parcels are categorized to their delivery areas.
He shared that the newly opened sorting center caters to shoppers from the National Capital Region, the greater Manila Area, South Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
Yu said the facility is equipped with technology features that make the sorting process faster and more efficient.
These include smart cameras that can instantly identify packages as well as robotic machinery that directs parcels to their designated delivery areas, among others.
SPX Express said that establishing a new sorting facility also aligns with efforts to help micro, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) scale the reach of their businesses through its network of hubs and service points across the country, allowing sellers to reach more customers beyond their immediate proximities.
In addition, SPX Express said its advanced technology ensures a smooth and reliable experience for both sellers and buyers, which can help businesses in building a positive reputation in the market.
“At the heart of our growth lies our relentless pursuit to empower our customers and partners. We will continually strive to provide Filipinos with swift and secure delivery services and pursue our drive to unlock the transformative growth of the e-commerce ecosystem in the Philippines,” Yu said.
