According to Comelec data, as of March 4, most applicants – 165,702 – came from Calabarzon. The National Capital Region followed with 140,638, and Central Luzon with 98,976.
The Cordillera Administrative Region had the least number of applications processed at 10,346.
More than half of the new registrants, 474,396, were female, while there were 436,522 males.
The Comelec expected at least three million Filipinos to register as new voters nationwide ahead of the May 2025 midterm polls.
The voter registration period started last month, February 12, and will end on September 30, 2024.
Applicants may register from Monday to Saturday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., in any Comelec office nationwide.
