The Philippine embassy in South Korea gave recognition to the heroic act of an overseas Filipino worker (OFW) for saving the life of a co-worker, according to a GMA Regional One Western Visayas “Good Vibes” report by Russell Simorio on “Saksi.”
Monico Caranay, a factory worker, saved the life of his Korean co-worker who accidentally fell into a large press machine in Busan.
Caranay was quick to turn off the machine, saving the life of his co-worker who was pinned in the machine.
Jaebin Cho expressed his gratitude towards Caranay.
“Thank you to the Filipino people in Korea, especially to Nicky, who saved my life. I will neve forget you in my life,” he said.
In reply, Caranay said, “Ang ating spirit bilang Pilipino, ang ating puso, we are willing to help.”
Caranay traveled to Korea in 2015 and is now a pastor and evangelist. He lives in Korea together with his two children, who are also OFWs. — BAP, GMA Integrated News
