Calvin Oftana, Raymond Almazan, and JM Calma ruled their respective events in the PBA All-Star weekend on Saturday in Bacolod.
TNT’s Oftana became the new three-point champion as he posted 25 points in the championship round to beat Magnolia’s Paul Lee (20) and Meralco’s Chris Newsome (15).
Meralco’s Almazan, meanwhile, ruled the Three-Point Shootout for bigs as he made 19 points to defeat NLEX’s Dave Marcelo, Barangay Ginebra’s Christian David, and Terrafirma’s Isaac Go.
NorthPort’s JM Calma, on the other hand, clocked 26 seconds in the finals to top the Skills Challenge. The San Sebastian product bested Rain or Shine’s Santi Santillan (29) and Magnolia’s James Laput (39).
Converge’s Justin Arana led Team Greats past Team Stalwarts, 142-133 in the All-Star Blitz Game for the rookies, sophomores, and juniors of the league.
Arana had 36 points and eight rebounds to emerge as the Most Valuable Player of the Greats which has Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser, Jerrick Ahanmisi, Alec Stockton, Ken Tuffin, Shaun Ildefonso, James Laput, Andrei Caracut, RK Ilagan, Gian Mamuyac, Ralph Cu, and Javi Gomez de Liaño.
