National University took down De La Salle University, 22-25, 25-23, 25-16, 25-22, in the UAAP Season 86 women’s volleyball tournament on Sunday at the Mall of Asia Arena.

The Lady Bulldogs snapped La Salle’s seven-game win streak in the tournament and its own five-game losing skid against the Lady Spikers.

Vange Alinsug paced the Lady Bulldogs with 22 points anchored on 20 attacks, a block, and an ace, while Bella Belen added 14 points as NU improved to 10-2 and held the second spot behind University of Santo Tomas (10-2).

Shevana Laput, meanwhile, had 21 points as the Angel Canino-less Taft-based squad was dealt its second loss in the season.

NU will still have Adamson University and Far Eastern University, while La Salle will have Adamson, Ateneo de Manila University, and UST as their remaining opponents in the elimination round.

Meanwhile, Ateneo defeated UE, 25-17, 23-25, 25-23, 25-16, to improve to 4-8. The Lady Warriors, on the other hand, slipped to 2-9.
