Mo Twister explains 'ugly version

Boy Abunda on Thursday called attention to the hate messages that Mo Twister has been receiving following Kaye Abad’s recollection of a certain comment he made during her appearance “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” last Friday.

On Instagram, Mo Twister explained his comment about Kaye Abad being the “ugly version” of Iza Calzado.

Sharing a video of Kaye’s recent guesting on his radio show, the DJ said he has been “receiving hate messages all week long about what I said regarding Kaye Abad, stemming from when I called her ugly. It’s been on the news and in tabloids online, and I just need to fix this.”

“I will only comment on this issue once,” Mo said in the caption before saying “let’s put this ugliness behind us.”

In the video, Mo and Kaye recounted that time he was did a game on his radio show called “whose celebrity was the ugly version of which celebrity.”

“What happened was, that we were doing the ugly version of which celebrity. ‘Di ‘ba binanggit ko, I’m the ugly version of Matt Damon? Tapos nag-text ka sa ‘kin,” Mo told Kaye in the video.

“Nag-text ako sa ‘yo,” Kaye responded to Mo. “Sabi ko, ‘Ako Mo, sinong ugly version ako.’ It was back in the 1990s, pa ito,”

Mo asked Kaye if she got hurt by his remark, to which Kaye answered “No. Not at all.”

“Actually, na-flatter pa nga ako,” Kaye said. “I really find Iza very pretty. So nu’ng sinabi mo ugly version ka ni Iza Calzado. Sabi ko, ‘Oh wow. I’ll accept that’,” she said.

According to Kaye, Iza reached out to her after her interview with Boy Abunda. “She told me that she heard about my Tito Boy Abunda interview and what Mo said. Sabi niya, ‘First of all, thank you for the kind words, but then ‘wag ko daw tanggapin na sinabi mo na ugly version niya ako’,” Kaye recounted.

Mo said he was glad that they were still friends until now.

“I’m glad that you’re on the show so we can clear the air here that we’re not fighting. We’re okay. Everything is fine. I didn’t really mean it when I called you ugly. I should have just said discount. I should have been better,” he said.

This update from Mo came after Kaye’s recent interview in “Fast Talk With Boy Abunda,” where she recalled their “ugly-version” conversation sometime in the ‘90s became viral. — Jade Veronique Yap/LA, GMA Integrated News
