Makati FC clinched a second consecutive Paul Parker overall championship in the JSSL Singapore Academy 7’s 2024 on Sunday after winning titles in six divisions.

Makati FC’s Girls Under 16 squad, composed of the core of the team that placed second in the Gothia World Youth Cup last year, delivered a trophy that also earned them qualification to the Girls U16 Pro division, where it was able to compete against Sporting Clube de Portugal and Spain’s Valencia CF.

The Girls 14 team also ruled their division while the Girls 12 made a successful defense of their title. Makati FC also ruled the Boys 13, Boys 7, and Boys 6 divisions en route to earning its third overall championship in the tournament.

The Filipino club also placed second in the Boys 14 and Boys 10 while finishing on the podium in the Boys 15 and Girls 10.

Touted as Asia’s biggest youth football competition, more than 450 teams from different countries participated in this year’s tournament.

“Football has the power to transcend barriers and unite communities and by investing in our youth and providing them with the tools to succeed, we’re not only shaping the future of football but also empowering future leaders and role models,” says Tomas Lozano, founder of Makati FC.
