AP Bren showed no signs of fatigue from non-stop competitions as it asserted mastery over rival Blacklist International, 2-0, to kick off its title defense in the MPL Philippines Season 13 on Friday at the Shooting Gallery Studios in Makati.

It was a total dominance for the defending champions in Game 1, where Kyle “KyleTzy” Sayson (Fredrinn) almost single-handedly secured the lord before the 15th minute while four Codebreakers were down.

They then took down all of Blacklist’s turrets en route to the final push towards the base and the series lead. Gold laner Marco “Super Marco” Requitiano led the charge with a perfect KDA of five kills and four assists on his Karrie.

But Blacklist put up a better fight in Game 2, which lasted for 33 minutes  and 31 seconds.

Bren, though, displayed their championship poise with veteran mid laner Angelo “Pheww” Arcangel (Vexana) unloading a double kill against Kenneth “Yue” Tadeo (Nana) and Salic “Hadji” Imam (Tigreal) that led to a wipeout and the sweep win.

In the first game, Minana Evos eked out a similar 2-0 clean sweep against new-look TNC.

Rookie exp laner Jann Kirk “Kirk” Gutierrez was hailed the MVP in both games after a 3/3/10 KDA in the series opener with his Arlott while he paraded the same hero in Game 2, where he flaunted four kills and three kills against two deaths.
