Liezel Lopez says she received ‘Dudukutin ko na ‘yung contact lens mo” comment for her role in ‘Asawa Ng Asawa Ko”
It has been almost two months since we met Liezel Lopez’s new antagonist character, Shaira, in her current series, “Asawa Ng Asawa Ko.”
On Wednesday’s “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” the Sparkle star said she feels happy whenever viewers get irritated by her role.
“Ibig sabihin effective sa mga tao ‘yung ginagawa ko, and also, totoo din ‘yung nararamdaman nilang galit. Kumbaga naniniwala sila na totoo talaga ‘yung ginagawa namin sa series, which is nice,” she said.
[It only means my acting is effective. What they’re feeling toward me is real, which tells me what we’re doing in the series is believable. Which is nice.]
“Tawang-tawa ako dun sa isang comment. Sabi niya, ‘Inis na inis na ako sa’yo, Shaira. Dudukutin ko na ‘yung contact lens mo,’” Liezel said.
[I coulnd’t help but laugh at a comment that said, ‘I’m so irritated by you, I want to remove your contact lens.]
When asked what mark she wants to make in the showbiz industry through her kontrabida roles, Liezel said, “Gusto kong makilala bilang kontrabida na mararamdaman mo kung bakit siya naging kontrabida. The kind of villain that you will love to hate ba kumbaga.”
She continued, “Nag-start ‘yun sa ‘Voltes V.’ ‘Yon, kumbaga kahit masama siya, mararamdaman mo ‘yung puso niya kung bakit siya naging masama. Makaka-relate ka sa kaniya in a way.”
[It started with Voltes V. Even if the character is bad, you can feel how she became a villain and relate to her in a way.]
Directed by award-winning director Laurice Guillen, “Asawa Ng Asawa Ko” started airing on January 15.
The GMA primetime series also stars Jasmine Curtis-Smith and Rayver Cruz.
Liezel also previously starred in “Voltes V: Legacy” as Zandra.
