Jackie Chan just turned 70 years old!

On Instagram, the legendary action star shared some throwback photos of him alongside a heartfelt reflection to ponder.

“Even before today, many friends have been reminding me: ‘Jackie, it’s going to be your 70th birthday!'” Chan began in the caption.

According to the Hong Kong actor, every time he hears the number 70, his heart stops for a second, and can’t help to ask the question: “I’m 70 years old already?”

He then recalled what his fellow martial artist Sammo Hung said: “Being able to grow old is a fortunate thing.”

“Especially for us stunt people, we don’t know how lucky we are to be able to grow old,” the martial arts superstar said.

Chan also addressed the concerns of his fans and netizens about his health because of recent photos circulating online, saying that it was only for his new character.

“The character requires me to have white hair, white beard and look old. Over the years, I’ve always been willing to try new things for a movie, no matter if it’s a challenging stunt or a breakthrough appearance for a character. I’ve been in the entertainment business for 62 years and I cherish every moment because I’m lucky I’m still filming today,” he said.

Ending his post, he expressed his gratitude to everyone who greeted him a happy birthday.

“Looking at these photos brings back so many fond memories. All I can say is: I love making movies and I love you all. A big thank you to everyone for all your birthday wishes. Hope everyone stays happy and healthy!” he concluded.

Fellow celebrities including Kapuso actor Rodjun Cruz sent in their birthday greetings to the actor, calling Chan a “legend.”
