Two-time Emmy Award winner Marc Anthony Nicolas is set to host “Make Your Marc”, a talk show on GMA Pinoy TV that will share the stories of Pinoys around the world.

Aside from the opportunity to spread the stories of global Filipinos, Nicolas said that he was particularly excited for the show because of his mother’s influence.

“I think my mom would be so very proud if she was here on earth but I know she’s even more prouder in heaven,” he said in an interview with GMA Pinoy TV.

“I think she would be so excited for me to have my very own talk show because she instilled so much positivity in me, and honestly every time I tape [and] every time I film, every time I talk to another person, I feel that I bring a part of my mom with me on set,” he added.

The West Hollywood-based producer said he intends to share Filipino heritage and tradition through his show, and it was apparent through his chosen team of Pinoys.

“It’s become a platform where people can actually share their stories, and I ‘m just so lucky and so blessed to have this team behind me. Working on this project it’s so nice to see people that look like me and talk like me and share that special bond and heritage and tradition, and that’s what makes it feel so special because I have that connection not only with the trail blazers who are Filipino but also the crew as well that are Filipino as well,” Nicolas said.

Executive Producer Chris Gordon said  the show hopes to inspire and represent Filipinos who have made their own mark all over the world.

“I feel as though there are a lot of people who will be inspired by these trail blazers ‘ stories and how they’ve become, how they’ve made their mark on the world,” Gordon said.

“I feel as though it’s undeniable for Hollywood to see all of us, you know, and because we have great stories We can’t deny those stories. We’re very creative with how we tell these stories that Hollywood has not been used to portraying or giving to everyone,” he added.

He also shared that it was his first experience working on a team composed of mostly Filipinos or Filipino-Americans, which made his experience with the project unique from others he has done.

“I’ve never been on a set or worked on a project where just about everybody is a person of color or a Filipino-American or Filipino, and the production team, Christian, and his crew are young and they’re vibrant and they’re fresh and they’re hungry… and you can feel it,” Gordon said.

Meanwhile, director Christian Reyes said that the project was a “collaborative thing” that worked due to the trust given to the team.—Jiselle Anne Casucian/RF, GMA Integrated News
