A total of 2,120 residents from Santa Marcela, Apayao received free medical and dental consultation thanks to the GMA Kapuso Foundation‘s Kalusugan Karavan.

According to a report on “24 Oras,” Monday, the beneficiaries were given medicines, vitamins, and a meal.

Among them was Eva Fronda, 66, who was unable to get medical checkups due to her low income as a pig breeder.

“Usually karaniwang sakit dito ‘yung non-communicable diseases gaya ng hypertension, diabetes at meron pa tayong iba na may comorbidities may sakit sa puso asthma,” said Dr. Myolaine Hilario, a rural health physician from Doctors to the Barrios.

Children also received fluoride varnish to strengthen their teeth and those who have poor eyesight received free eyeglasses.
