Elle Villanueva and Derrick Monasterio’s ‘Makiling’ is extended!

Good news, “Makiling” fans. The GMA Afternoon Prime series starring Elle Villanueva and Derrick Monasterio has been extended!

In Lhar Santiago’s report on “24 Oras,” Thursday, the Sparkle stars shared their delight upon receiving the news.

“Kahit kami, nabibitin kami eh. Gusto pa namin ng more story, more character arch. Parang gusto pa naming ituloy ang show, mas malalim na istorya pa,” Elle said.

“Hindi lang talaga siya ratings lang, taas ng ratings, maganda, ganiyan, ‘yung pinaka-rewarding diyan is ‘yung pinagpaguran talaga namin kasi siya. Nakakatuwa,” said Derrick.

The lead stars also said that they are now preparing for more heavy scenes.

“Sinabi sa akin po na papalagyan pa nila ako ng mas marami pang mga action scenes kasi, ewan ko ba, bagay naman daw po sa akin, hindi naman daw po awkward so parang thank you. Thank you for that compliment,” Derrick said.

Elle also hopes to have an action scene with the actor.

“‘Yung magkaroon kaming action dalawa ni Derrick. Maglalaban kami,” she said.

“Makiling” marked Derrick and Elle’s return to GMA Afternoon Prime following “Return to Paradise.”

In February last year, Elle admitted that Derrick was courting her, and two months later, they opened up about their “no label” relationship and their commitment to each other.

In August of the same year, Derrick revealed that they are officially a couple and that he has already met Elle’s family.

“Makiling” airs Mondays to Fridays at 4:05 p.m after “Stolen Life.”
