Bryan Sajonia erupted for a big game as reigning NCAA champion San Beda University breezed into a 126-76 assault against CCI-Yengskivel in the 2024 PBA D-League Aspirants’ Cup on Thursday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.
Sajonia went on a shooting spree after burying eight triples to finish with 31 markers on top of eight rebounds and one assists in only 16 minutes of action as the Red Lions remained unblemished with 3-0 card.
They joined fellow unbeaten team EcoOil-La Salle atop the standings.
All 15 players chipped in at least two points with Iñigo Torres and reigning NCAA Finals MVP James Payosing chiming in with 16 and 14 markers apiece while John Lopez registered 10 markers.
San Beda asserted its dominance right from the get-go, cruising to a 32-3 start powered by five three-pointers from Sajonia, who got his offensive juices flowing early. San Beda even led by as much as 54 when John Peregrina completed a layup before the two-minute mark of the fourth period.
The win extended San Beda’s perfect run so far in the tournament after also blowing out Go Torakku-St. Clare, 92-59, and Keanzel Basketball, 109-59.
