MELBOURNE, Australia — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. met some members of the Filipino community upon his arrival here on Sunday evening.
Marcos met the Filipinos when he and First Lady Louise ”Liza” Araneta-Marcos were having a late dinner at a restaurant.
”Ran into some kababayans there! A great start to our trip,” Marcos said in a photo where the First Couple and Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez were seen chatting with a Filipino family.
On Monday, Marcos will have a meet and greet with the Filipino community at the Melbourne Town Hall at the sidelines of the ASEAN-Australia Special Summit.
There are an estimated 408,000 Filipinos and Australians of Filipino descent in Australia, making Filipinos the fifth largest migrant community in Australia. —KBK, GMA Integrated News
