President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos on Wednesday celebrated their 31st wedding anniversary.

On Instagram, the First Lady posted a collage of their photos taken in April 1993, April 2018, and April 2024 with the caption “Happy 31st anniversary!!”

The First Couple married in Italy on April 17, 1993.

They were blessed with three sons Sandro, Simon, and Vinny.

In a vlog posted last February, Marcos talked about how he is able to be a dedicated husband by spending quality time with the First Lady despite his busy role as President.

“Well, mahirap talaga ‘yung balanse dahil work takes up so much of our time. Well, hindi lang naman ako, pati si Liza marami talagang ginagawa… (Well, it’s really hard to balance because work takes up so much of our time. Well, it’s not just me, even Liza has so many things to do…) So, we try to find five minutes here, twenty minutes there, we eat together. Basta’t whatever the schedule allows, we take full advantage of it,” the President said.

The couple also shared that the President cooks at home and that they do date nights every Wednesday at a restaurant if their schedule allows it.

The couple said they keep their married life healthy with the quality time they spend together and moments of laughter during their short breaks. They said they make sure not to let stress consume them.

On Monday, April 8, last week, Marcos told reporters he needs to make time for the First Lady amid his tight schedule.

Marcos told reporters in Bacolod City that he already missed two date nights with the First Lady.

”Wala, this last. Dalawa na miss namin ang date namin. So, kailangan akong mag-ano, kailangan akong babawi pagbalik ko galing sa States. Nagtatampo na sa akin,” Marcos said.

(None, this last [two weeks]. We already missed two dates. So I need to make up for it after arriving back from the US. She is not happy about it.)

The President then took the First Lady out for a date that very night. They watched the concert of James Taylor at the SM Mall of Asia Arena. —KG, GMA Integrated News
