“Young Sheldon” star Iain Armitage took a trip down memory lane as he wrapped up filming of the beloved sitcom.

On social media, the 15-year-old actor shared an old photo of him getting ready to film his first scene of the series.

“This is 8-year-old me getting ready to film the very first scene I did as Young Sheldon,” Iain began.

Iain pondered what his costar Melissa Peterman, who played Brenda Sparks on the show, recently asked him: What he might go back and tell his younger self if he could?

“Maybe I wouldn’t tell him anything and I would just let life unfold as it does, but I think he’d be so surprised and happy to see where we are now. I sure am,” the child star wrote.

“I don’t think this kid could have anticipated what it would feel like to film our final scene all these years later.”

Iain thanked the cast and crew and ended with an enthusiastic “I love you all so much!”

Iain plays the young version of Sheldon Cooper (Jim Parsons) in the CBS comedy series “Young Sheldon,” a prequel to the popular sitcom “The Big Bang Theory.”

According to Deadline, the upcoming 7th season of “Young Sheldon” will be its last. It will consist of 14 episodes, with an hour-long series finale airing on May 16.
