University of Santo Tomas extended its winning streak to five as it swept Ateneo de Manila University, 25-19, 25-16, 25-19, on Saturday in the UAAP Season 86 women’s volleyball tournament at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Angge Poyos shone anew for the Golden Tigresses with 26 points from 21 attacks, three aces, and two blocks as the España crew remained perfect in the tourney and maintained their best start in 13 years.
Lyann de Guzman, meanwhile, had 11 points as the Blue Eagles fell to 1-4.
Meanwhile, Far Eastern University defeated Adamson University, 25-13, 25-22, 25-17.
Faida Bakanke had 14 points, while Chen Tagaod and Gerzel Petallo chipped in 12 points apiece as the Lady Tamaraws went up to 3-3.
Ayesha Juegos had 10 points for the Lady Falcons as they slipped to 2-3.
