The University of Santo Tomas outlasted Ateneo de Manila University, 25-15, 27-25, 23-25, 26-28, 15-13, to stay undefeated in the UAAP Season 86 women’s volleyball tournament on Wednesday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Angge Poyos paced the Golden Tigresses with 22 points, while Regina Jurado had 19 points. Jonna Perdido chipped in 17 points as the España-based squad opened the second round on a high note and improve to 8-0.

Lyann De Guzman had 22 points for the Blue Eagles, while Sobe Buena and Geezel Tsunashima added 21 points apiece as the Katipunan crew went down to 2-6.

Earlier, National University bounced back after a loss against De La Salle University last Saturday and defeated the University of the Philippines, 25-21, 30-32, 25-17, 25-19.

Vange Alinsug had 24 points, while Bella Belen had 21 points as the Lady Bulldogs went up to 6-2. Steph Bustrillo had 17 points as the Fighting Maroons slipped to 1-7.
